I thought today I would show you all some of my favourite things I got for my birthday and what I also brought with my birthday money I got, so let's get down to business!
I got this Origins Never A Dull Moment Skin Brightening Face Polisher which I have been loving so so much! I have been loving the more natural skincare products recently so this was the perfect present. If you have quite sensitive skin than a face polisher is perfect for you, it has finely milled granules designed to energise your skin leaving it soft and glowing where as a scrub is slightly more aggressive to the skin and will get rid of the dead skin cells more violently and can irritate sensitive skin easily. It leaves my face feeling super clean and refreshed, really waking me up for the day.
The next product is this Treacle Moon Iced Strawberry Dream Bath and Shower Gel which smells heavenly may I just add! I haven't tried it yet but I am really excited to. Oh and I love how cute the name is!
Of course the name is a joke and I find it hilarious (as I am quite the feminist actually!) The packaging is so cool and quirky which I love. The product itself is clear shower like gel with small exfoliating granules which lathers really well and exfoliates gently to the skin so it is not irritating. It also has a very strong fresh and zesty grapefruit smell which I like a lot.
I have been wanting this for ages so when I went shopping with my friend Joanna, who may be reading this haha, I just had to go buy it asap. This is the Charles Worthington Volume & Bounce Texturising Spray which has been such a massive hype in the blogging world and I have final jumped on the bandwagon! I tried it the other night after shopping before going out for a meal with my parents and it really gave my hair volume without feeling heavy. It gave my hair some life after rushing around all day and is a great alternative to the Oribe Texturising Spray!
I have never tried a REN product before so when I saw this I was so so excited and this has now become my favourite cleanser. This is the REN Gentle Cleansing Milk! It is really nice and gentle to the skin. Although it looks creamy it has a really light consistency and does not feel heavy on the face at all. It leaves my face feeling very hydrated and refreshed as well as slightly moisturised?! It is truly worth it for someone with sensitive and acne prone skin as it really helps reduce the redness and leave your face feeling lovely.
Now if you follow me on Instagram (whattaylorbuys) then you will know how much I love a good face mask as I do love a good face mask selfie! This is the Dead Sea Spa Magik Algimud Active Seaweed Mask which I am really keen to try, I have never heard of it before but I love trying out new things.
May I just start by saying YAYAYAYAYAY I LOVE LUSH SO SO MUCH. After spending waaay too much in Lush the last time I went I promised that I wouldn't go for a while as it was getting so bad, so when I opened a box to find some Lush goodies I was over the moon! This is the Dirty Springwash Shower Gel it has spearmint and menthol in it to wake you up and create a tingling effect on the skin as well as stimulate the mind. There is also a hint of Thyme which adds a herby note to the fresh scent.
Now when I first opened this I was super confused as to what is was so I did some research on it on the Lush website and this is the Seanik Shower Bar to make your hair shiny and voluminous. It contains solid seaweed, sea salt and lemon to give an uplifting summer scent too as well as containing tropical scents to make your hair smell lovely! It looks pretty messy to use but hopefully it will be okay haha!
This is the product which I was so happy about receiving, this is The Comforter which is one of Lush's most beloved Bubble Bar. It smells like heaven!
One of my all time favourites is this Think Pink bath bomb from Lush which has vanilla, tonka, neroli and lavender to clear your mind and make you smell as sweet as roses. I just love the super cute flowers on top which makes it look so cute and girly.
This is such a cute product and this is the Ickle Baby Bot which is designed for kids but I am loving. It has lavender in it (one of the favourite scents) that calms and relaxes you as well as treat irritations, sunburn and insect bites! (Little fun fact for you!)
This is the Tropical Jungle Solid Conditioner which is packed with tropical fruit, oils and cocoa butter to calm your mane and fresh bananas and avocados to condition the hair. Is this some sort of hint? Haha!
I also got this Too Faced Sweetheart Beads - Radiant Glow Face Powder which looks super girly and cute. I love using this on my cheeks to give my face a bit more of a glow and shimmer.
I have become such a nude and neutrals person recently so when my eyes met with this nail polish it was love at first sight. This is the Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in Almond, the colour is a light taupe shade and I don't know why but it makes me feel super sophisticated with it on! (Check out my Instagram for a picture!) I think it took two coats for it to be opaque which is pretty good!
Now this was a present that I never knew I needed but now I have it I'm never going to not used it. I am such a mixer of foundations all the time, I am one of those people who always buys the wrong shade foundation so I always need to mix them! I think it was pretty obvious that I needed this after foundation dripping off the back of my hand in an attempt of mixing it haha! It's so weird using this though as I feel like I'm some sort of artist or professional when I far from it!
Another Lush product I got was this Karma Gorilla Perfume in a solid roll on. Karma is a powerful, spicy and unique patchouli and citrus fragrance, it also travel size which is perfect for travelling and for school!
I didn't even know that anyone knew I wanted this so when I opened it I was so so happy! I mean look at the packaging, it is stunning! It smells heavenly, it's a sort of fruity and floral fragrance in one. Amazing, amazing, amazing.
These are a collared dress and a collared shirt from Primark which I got. I am really loving the pastel trend so these are perfect for me!
So I brought this when I went shopping with Joanna and I am pretty sure that Kiko Cosmetics is going to become an obsession of mine! Although I only brought one product in the end, I was so tempted to just buy everything as the packaging is so cute and everything seemed like such good quality for their price! I really felt sorry for Joanna as I was frantically running around picking things up and then chucking them at her to put back, I was sneaking things into my Kiko shopping bag, they gave out super cute bags to put your stuff in before you brought it. I recommend that you go in their because the products are so so good, these swatches stayed on my hands all day and are super pigmented! This is their Creamy Touch Eyeshadow Duo in 100 Charcoal and Steel which is perfect for a smoky eye look, it glides so perfectly onto your eyelids too.
Excuse the red hands, that was me trying to rub off swatches! (Oh the cons of super pigmented and long lasting products haha!) This is the Lord & Berry Luminizer Stick in Moon which has become very quickly a staple product of mine in my everyday makeup. It is a creamy highlighter which can be applied to the cheekbones brow bone or any other area you wish to highlight. It is great for on the go and really brightens your face.
I never thought I would be someone who would own Chanel products but here I am with two beautiful and amazing quality products eeeeeeeeeeeeeek!!
This is the Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine in Boy. It glides onto your lips so perfectly and smoothly and there is a definite shine given to your lips as if it is a lip gloss but not sticky at all I mean its Chanel! I would describe the colour as a lovely nude and cool toned pink like rose quartz. The colour is so versatile as it is perfect for work, school and nights out. The texture is so lightweight and it is very comfortable to wear.
This is the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation which I have fallen head over heels for, I am never sure on foundations and reviewing them as I don't think I do so well therefore I will try my hardest to explain this well. My shade is 30 Beige which is perfect for me and it is great to apply with your fingers or a beauty blender/miracle complexion sponge as it is a fluid consistency so it feels lightweight on your skin. It has a medium coverage which is buildable and leaves a velvety (sort of matte) skin finish. I also love the packaging too it looks so chic.
I had wanted a Tanya Burr Lip Gloss for ages so when we popped into Superdrug I couldn't help but pick one up. I chose the lip gloss called Afternoon Tea which sounds so so cute and smells delicious! It is a gorgeous pink nude which I have been wearing all the time since I brought it! What I love the most is that it is not sticky at all like most lip glosses you wear.
I am such a Sleek palette fanatic I swear! I love the packaging of this palette, it makes me so excited for summer! The fact that it is limited edition also really excited me haha! The palette sounds perfect for me as I have been really wanting to go for a more bold and bright look for summer rather than the typical neutral eye!
The palette contains a variety of shimmer and matte shades ranging from bright colours to pastels, it is a great alternative for the Urban Decay Electric Palette if you want to have a bold but not too over the top look. They are super pigmented and have a great texture, not tacky feeling at all.
I love the names of the shades as well! My favourites from this picture are Poolside (a matte sky blue shade great for making your eyes pop) and On The Rocks (a beautiful coral with a sheen like finish)
My favourites from this palette are Blue Marlin (a super pigmented teal/turquoise shade), Feel Euphoric (a shimmery pink) and Paradise (a pastel matte lilac)
Joanna was telling me about Kylie Jenner and how she achieves her fuller lips by using a lip pencil. I have never really tried a lip pencil before so I am excited to try it! This is Eau La La Liner from Sleek.
As I want to get into wearing red lips more I thought I'd buy this Red one called Rouge. It is super creamy and pigmented showing a real intense colour.
I have wanted this for so so long as many bloggers I talk to have this and it is part of their everyday makeup so I really wanted to see if it was worth the hype. I have not tried it yet but I am a great fan of Revlon's PhotoReady range so I am sure I will not be disappointed.
Where do I even begin? They are so so stunning and I am head over heels for the packaging. These are two products from the MAC Aquatic Collection. I got the Extra Dimension Bronzing Powder and the Lustre Lipstick.
How beautiful is it?!
Adore the packaging so so much, this colour will be perfect for the summer however I have to ensure I don't look like I have concealer lips haha!
Now these two products are so weird yet so fascinating. They are the Yes To Carrots Softening Facial Mask and Hydrating Shower Gel. It is so weird how much they do smell of carrots but they do leave your skin feeling very lovely and soft as they are packed with natural ingredients.
Another beautiful packaged product this is the Soap and Glory Solar Powder Bronzo. It has two shades, a bronzer and a highlighter with a S&G pink powder logo in the middle. The texture of the powder is very silky and blends nicely.
And last but not least, this is the POREfessional Agent Zero Shine from Benefit. I get very shiny around my t-zone so this is the perfect product for me! I tried it the other night and it really worked, I also love the little brush that comes out the bottom so it is perfect for on the go.
So there you go some favourites, may add some more later on but it depends on how busy I am with revision etc as it is half term at the moment so I am writing this post as a little relaxation for myself and catching up with the blogging world. It sounds very strange but my exams etc have made me realise how important my blog is to me, it's like my baby and I am always thinking to myself 'hows my blog?' and 'whats happening on my BlogLovin' feed' is sounds so sad but I am truly missing dedicating all my nights to my blog but as soon as my exams end it will happen and hopefully I can improve both the content and quality of the posts for you all to read and enjoy. So my question for this post is what is on your birthday wishlist? And what should I buy with my birthday money I have left? Comment below!
Lots of love, Taylor x
